Renel was born in Haiti and immigrated to Brooklyn, NY at the tender age of 6 years old. Renel has always had a relationship with music. From singing in the choir during middle school to playing classical guitar in his high school ensemble band to even being a vocalist in a rock band. After high school Renel opted for a more practical path in life studying economics and political science at Brooklyn College. After years of working in the non profit sector education sector. Renel opted to quit his job and pursue music as a full time profession. Renel combines an array of melodic flows and melodies to tell stories, always opting to bend genres and defy expectations.
